HTML Transitions
I've done a little research into HTML transitions and it looks like its an internet explorer facility- anyone know an equivalent for cross browser usage?

Kinetic Typography
Nearly finished, I'm just trying to find somewhere that hosts files this big. Any ideas?
Google Analytics
I've installed Google Analytics into the HTML code of the blog which now basically means I'm not going to do anymore work- I'm just going to sit here and watch whose looking at our blog, I love it.
We've had 12 unique visits since yesterday lunch time, all from the uk and most have been referred to the blog via Facebook. I'm assuming this is due to the new links I put on my profile. So add links where ever you can to up the traffic- I'm about to put some on Twitter.
Hurrendously Geeky yet most pleasurable.

Character Design (replacing flower)
Heres some characters to replace the too gender specific flower. Each ones numbered so if we pick a couple we like I can develop them further- I personally like 5. I've kept the line and detail really simple so that when they're glowing you can still make out what they are. Craig, did you get round to designing some?
Sorry its the wrong way round- I did rotate it into landscape but blogger isn't playing nice.

First attempt at intro (Kinetic Typography)
So here's my first attempt at the intro video for our site. At the moment admittedly its a tad dull (Just b&w) however, the functional side of it works very successfully and I'm really happy with the progress so far. I'll have a look at some more tomorrow, but after a fair few hours getting familiar with after effects and then doing the video itself, I think I deserve some kip!. Might not be there tmoz boyo's :)
Kinetic Typography - Intro.
For the intro, I've decided to create a kinetic typography FLV to play as an intro to the website. I feel this will tie in nicely with the current style we are trying to achieve. Some examples:

I've roughed a projector and it doesn't look to bad... some work needed on projected bounding box maybe.

Designs.
Well we aren't short on them, and I feel we are getting ever closer to a final design. At the moment I'm happy with the projection idea. Meeting with the clients will be valuable again and will certainly be something we look to do early next week. I think feedback on this style of design is crucial and will provide us with valuable information on how we can direct the design in the best way possible and how improvements can be made (if we need any!).
Illustration Evaluation
After uploading the last 2 examples I've reflected on what doesn't work...
- I think the flower creatures are too gender specific and maybe we should use some none-descript creatures.
- The projection idea is lacking something that shouts PROJECTION! I think adding a projector in the foreground could work...

The flower inspired me...
Each menu could have its own flower character...?! I think I should take a break.

NEON ONLY!
Ok, we've decided to keep the neon and scrap the retro feel- wasn't working! Over the next 2 days our efforts are going towards finalizing the designs. To do this we've all agreed to make a few more examples of rough concepts. Heres my first:

Running out of time...
We really need to get a look an feel of the site set in stone- frankly we're going round in circles. Should we just stick with the neon theme and forget about merging it with the retro flavour that we initially agreed upon?
Header design stage's

For the first design, I have created a basic logo to use throughout the site. Keeping to the neon colours and appealing text I came up with the above.

Design Stage 2 -
For the second stage, I created an image to sit at the top of the title. Again focusing on the neon theme as well as tieing in Nottingham's city centre.

Design stage 3 - Added lighting effects and texture to the image. Added effects to blend the text into the image.

Media Player Development
We had an issue of where we might put the media player and I think I ma have a solution...
My idea is to have some sort of button on screen that triggers the media player to slide within a visible area. I'm also toying with the idea of fitting it with wheels and possibly a squeaky trolley sound. What do you think?
