Illustration Development
Ok, so we've had the feedback and from it we can now develop our ideas further, which is nice. We set each other the task to have 2 examples of merging the old with the new (neon with retro) and heres my(Steve) 2:

As you can clearly see I've pimped a Bakelite tv, one of a kind. I haven't included navigation buttons but they would appear under the screen to the top left and the main content would be displayed in the centre screen. I think adding more things growing out of the tv such as microphones and cameras could turn this idea into a multimedia machine- much like the concept behind the NMA site.

This idea is based upon the concept of the site being an interior installation.

Seeing as we're merging the retro theme with the neon look I've been checking out some old school fonts. This link was a find- free too!

Client Meeting's
Today we met up with two of the partners from NMA, Broadways's Martin Mills and Christine White of NTU. The following slides were shown to them to introduce the project:

Feedback:
- Each of the partners should be addressed not as separate entities but as one group of creatives.
- The concept of sound maybe more effective if each partner had a more detailed sound-bite.
- The neon concept was the preferred aesthetic- look at merging the concept with the 40's- 50's retro media (new and old).
- More examples of collaborative projects to show how the partners work together.
- RSS feeds of the news/events at each partners faculty could be reason for the user to re-visit the site.
- Video ident's/adverts for each of the partners could cut down on the amount of text based information.
- Broadway would like to be promoted as not only a cinema but also a place of education.
- Increased amount of user interaction needs to be considered- games, competition etc.
- Social networking elements such as a forum have been considered but the administration of such a facility has ruled out the possibility of its implementation at the present time.

Gorrillaz Website.
Thought I'd post this up as it's similar to our ideas for the site.

Meeting our clients...
We have now arranged a meeting with NTU (Christine White) and Broadway (Martin Mills), on Tuesday to discuss what they want from the site, to look at our ideas and designs and to talk about how we will be presenting Nottingham Media Academy.
Just a quick mention that we attended Thirsty Thursday last Thursday, which was exciting as NMA was mentioned on several occasions.
